New Martinsville Glass Tear Drop Candy Dish Blank

Made by New Martinsville, this wasn’t dime store Depression Glass. This was higher end glass, marketed more for the upper middle class and wealthy. This pattern is called Tear Drop. It was made by New Martinsville from 1936 to 1939. It’s divided into three parts inside, making it handy for a variety of uses. The piece is footed, and is large, measuring 7 1/2″ in diameter and 5″ high to the top of the finial. The finial is shaped like a sunburst, and the edge of the cover has raised beading. There are no chips or cracks on this elegant piece. Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

Fostoria Romance Etched Footed Tumbler Shape 341

Fostoria’s Romance Etched Footed Tumbler. Very fine, thin crystal with the ring of leaded or flint glass. Shape 341, Footed Tumbler. No discernible condition issues with this piece. Nick in the foot that catches my nail but it’s too tiny to measure accurately. 6 inches high, 3.5 inches at the rim diameter. Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

Accent Seasoning Glass Shaker Jar with Lid

Owens Illinois jar made for Accent. I recall the commercials for this seasoning, ‘Accent makes foods sing!’ Is it still made? This jar is in very good condition, the cap is fair condition, looks okay but has about 5 cracks starting at the bottom and radiating upwards. For now, it still screws on but I doubt it could take the stress of regular use. Based on the bottle markings this bottle was made during a year ending with ‘3’, my guess is either 1963 or 1973, at plant #9, located in Streator, Il. The X at the top of the logo indicates the container type or style. Transfers are in good shape. Great retro bottle for your collection. Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

Heavy, Opaque Milk Glass Box with Asian Motifs, EAPG ?

Victorian Era non-flint (?) glass box. At one time, this box probably had a lid that rested on the inside rim, although I don’t see the damage common with a lidded container, so either the lid was lost early or it never had one. 3.5 inches high, 3 inches by 2 7/8 inches. The bottom sagged during manufacture and this box will not sit level, rocks a bit. There are traces of cobalt blue, and possibly some green, accent paint used in combination with the gold accents on the corners and around some of the details. Has a Japanese / Asian theme with symbols, pagodas, trees, a girl, and a flower. Color of glass is decidedly off white, more of an Ivory shade or clam-broth. I am afraid to clean this container thoroughly, don’t want to remove any more gold. There’s a single ‘0’ marked in the side bottom of the container. Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

Unusual Acid Etched Footed Crystal Tumbler with Eagle

Unusual tumbler with etched eagle with two olive branches – one below and the other beside the bird. Etching design is rather crude, the eagle could pass for a pigeon with lots of attitude. I suspect this glass is old but I have no proof. Measures 5 inches high, 2 ½ inches in diameter. Glass is thick, a bit heavy, and has a little ring to it. Item looks old, I think it was machine made, at least in part, and probably mold blown. No seams, no maker’s marks. Glass has scratches from normal wear and some swirls on the outside. Couple of the scratches are deep enough that my finger nail catches on them. Has a bubble or two in the glass. In good condition with no cracks, or chips. Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

Crystal Dessert Saucers / Plates by Jeanette Glass in Camellia Pattern, ca. 1950’s

Partial set of 3 crystal plates by Jeanette Glass in the Camellia Pattern. Pattern is pressed from underside of glass, similar to Intaglio but not as detailed. Good quality dessert saucers. In good shape, measures 6.25 inches in diameter. Pattern was popular in the 1950’s. Glass is good quality, especially for Jeanette. May have been marketed as an alternative to buying more expensive etched crystal.

Owens-Illinois Carnival Glass Beer Bottle 1954 Stamp, Date Code 69, Plant Code 9

Owens-Illinois Glass bottle, made with the 1954 mark (an I inside and O), the date and plant code. Date code is 69, plant is number 9 (which is in Steator, Illinois). There are two other marks, one at the top and one underneath that I don’t know the meaning of. Looks similar to the old Michelob bottles in the 70’s. Has golden, iridescent color, in good shape except for about 4 deep scratches on one side and a couple of tiny nicks on the shoulder. There is some haze inside the bottle, mostly on one side. Might be dirt, or it might be mineral deposits.

Cat’s Eye and Block, Ethol, or Cut Log Small Mug, ca. 1885-1890 by Greenburg or Higbee

Lovely little mug made by either Greenburg Glass in 1885 or Higbee Glass in the 1890’s. This pattern is known as Cut Log, Cat’s Eye and Block, and Ethol. Measures 3 1/8 inches high, thick, heavy glass. Has a few bits of ash (or something white) caught in the glass, primarily on the base. Mold seams are rough and prominent, 5 part mold (4 panels for the sides and one for the bottom) I think the handle was molded with the side panels (rather than applied later on) for it has a seam down the center in line with the side seam. Has a flake in the bottom edge about 5mm long and 4 mm wide, doesn’t show when sitting upright. For some reason it’s hard to see anyway, maybe because the pattern looks rather busy on this small item.
